What Flavour Is Your ADHD?

Getting Unstuck.

ADHD, identity and your relationship with yourself through time

A workshop about the stories we carry about ourselves. Years of ADHD experiences, and other people’s reactions to them, can harden into beliefs like “I’m lazy” or “I have to be the best”.

Which version of you is in charge?

Past Metells me who I am
Present Megoes along with it
Future Meis expected to sort it out

Available where you are, in a suitable space arranged locally, or as part of a residential in Dorset. Selected workshops can also be delivered online.

Getting Unstuck can also be delivered as a residential, with more privacy and more space around the work. See how residentials work.

The central idea

Many people with ADHD carry an old story about who they are.

Getting Unstuck works with that story: where it came from, what it may once have protected you from, and whether it is still true.

The aim is not a more positive story. It is a more accurate one, built from new evidence about who you are now.

“How old is that story?”“Is it still the whole truth?”

Where the workshop works

Four areas that matter in their own right.

They overlap, but none of them has to be reduced to a productivity problem.

Emotional regulation

Feeling

Noticing what a situation stirs up, and learning to stay with it rather than escape it.

Identity and self-acceptance

Being

Telling the difference between “this happens to me” and “this is me”.

Psychoeducation

Knowing

Understanding ADHD as a difference in how you work, not a flaw in your character.

Direction and values

Choosing

Working out what matters to you, and what you want to give Future Me.

Doing

Skills and systems still matter.

They tend to work best alongside the other four areas.

On their own, skills and systems can leave how you feel about yourself untouched. They often become easier once something in the other four areas has shifted.

What participants take away

A more accurate story, with somewhere useful to go next.

A different way of seeing yourself

Separating what happened from what you concluded about yourself because of it.

Understanding, not blame

Seeing why patterns like “I don’t care” or “I have to be the best” may once have protected you.

More room for difficult feelings

Meeting what a situation stirs up with more curiosity and less judgement.

A way to update old beliefs

Checking them against your skills, support and circumstances now.

A clearer sense of what matters

Choosing what to give Future Me, whether that is a task, a boundary, rest or asking for help.

Recognition of limits

Knowing when something needs medical, specialist or practical support.

How it is delivered

Private reflection, without compulsory disclosure.

Fictional examples and presenter demonstrations, with no required group activities, role-plays or personal disclosure. Any reflection is private and optional.

This is not therapy or a treatment for ADHD. It offers understanding and options, and works alongside other support rather than replacing it.

Start with a broader map of how ADHD looks and feels in your life.
